    1. Not Just a Painter: Graham Kavanagh (that's me) has 30 years of renovation, building, decorating and painting experience meaning I can troubleshoot and find solutions to problems easier, faster and more cost effectively and I work fast and efficiently with a positive attitude.

  • What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

    I am a licensed painter and decorator and have worked on many HIA award winning renovations for renowned renovation companies and architects in Perth. I am know for my attention to detail and I am commonly brought in to fix up the sloppy work of others in all areas of home renovations.

  • Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

    I specialise in interior and exterior house painting, decorating, cladding, wallpapering and providing a result of the highest quality done efficiently and cost effectively for you the home owner. I worked in the family building company in the United Kingdom for 20 years on all building aspects.

  • How do you normally charge for your service?

    I charge in two ways. Firstly I provide a no obligation free quote for jobs and projects that are well defined based on time multiplied by hourly rate and materials, and secondly if the project is larger or there are unknowns, I can provide an estimate and invoice based on an hourly rate.

  • What makes your pricing competitive?

    We are fast and high quality workers and don't stand for any slacking in our team. So you get real value for money on any work done. The work is done to a very high quality meaning no re-work is needed and it will last. There is next to nothing project wise in residential I haven't seen or done.

  • How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

    As a painter, our lives are made easier by de-cluttering rooms and removing furniture as much as possible. We carry drop sheets and furniture protection but making it easy to move around means the job can be done faster and with less aches and pains.

  • What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

    We need to know room sizes, wall heights, current colours on the walls. Dark colours being painted light will generally need 3 coats to come up absolutely schmick. An idea of filling, repairing. Ceilings, skirtings, door frames, doors, cornices. picture rails, outside areas. We Quote On Site.

  • Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

    Yes we are insured with 5 million in liability which covers property damage such as a paint tin getting knocked onto carpet, or a TV being knocked over and smashed. We Guarantee our work with 100% satisfaction and do a walk through prior to payment. Any issues we will come back.

  • What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?

    You want to trust someone who is in your home for several hours to several weeks. Many of my clients are now long term friends being very happy with the content of my work and my character. Trust is built up over time. As you don't know me I provide phone numbers of past clients to get reviews.

  • What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

    Every job has different questions depending on the condition of the house. I walk through with you and will identify what you want done and point out anything that makes the job more difficult, should be done first, should also be done to get the best result.

  • What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

    Always get at least 2-3 different quotes and opinions on site. This way you can assess who is providing good advice and you are being educated at the same time. Ask to see copy of painters licence and especially insurance evidence before hiring. Ask to see job photos on their phone.

  • What do you like most about your job?

    I enjoy two parts of my job. Doing the work and seeing a transformation in a place and the more dramatic the transformation, the more enjoyable. I also enjoy the pleasure that owners get from a job well done through my efforts.

  • Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

    I have many many happy customers, and will show photos of work I have done and provide numbers for my clients so you can get a sense of who I am and how I work. I obviously enjoy knowing many houses I have worked on over the years won best renovation awards.

  • How did you decide to get into your line of work?

    Building has been the family business. My father kept building to the ripe old age of 82, as has my brother and myself.
